Bandai Entertainment is trying a new anime business model, offering an initial release of Kannagi (Crazy Shrine Maidens) through exclusive online retailers and streaming online, with a general retail release at a later date. The exclusive online versions will be released in two DVDs, with a free t-shirt for purchases of both volumes by September 8th.
The two volumes will then be released as a two-set edition sold through other retailers.
Kannagi (Crazy Shrine Maidens) is based on a manga by Eri Takenashi. The anime is directed by Yutaka Yamamoto (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star).
