Industry veteran, noted raconteur, and self-described “manly man” Beau Smith is joining IDW’s Library of American Comics as Marketing Director.  His new post reunites Beau with Dean Mullaney.  The dynamic duo shook up the industry in the 1980s at Eclipse Comics where Dean was the publisher and Beau, the marketing director.  In his new position Beau will concentrate on getting the Library of American Comics' superb series of newspaper comic strip reprints into more stores, libraries, and universities.

A graduate of Marshall University, the West Virginia-born Smith has had a ton other marketing experience with Image Comics, Todd McFarlane Productions, McFarlane Toys, and IDW.   Smith has also written a number of high profile comics including Batman, Superman, and Wolverine, and he has created several well-received series including Wynonna Earp, Parts Unknown, Maximum Jack, Courting Fate, and Cobb.
