Longtime comic retailer Carl Tupper, proprietor of BSI Comics in Metairie, Louisiana for 30 years, passed away on December 29th at the age of 70.  Tupper founded BSI (Book Swap Incorporated) with his wife Linda in 1979.  Comics soon became the focus of the show, which was renamed BSI Comics as a result.  Tupper sold BSI to its current owners in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and continued to occasionally help out at the store.

Tupper is survived by his wife Linda.  He had four children, 17 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
