U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Shelley Chapman ruled on Tuesday that acquisition companies controlled by Konami and Saban can split the key assets of 4Kids Entertainment and related companies. As the result of an asset auction and subsequent negotiations (see "Konami, Saban May Split 4Kids"), Konami will acquire the assets related to Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Saban will acquire 4Kids’ programming block on the CW and 4Kids’ rights related to Dragon Ball, Cubix, and Sonic X. 4Kids will retain some rights to other properties. The total value of the deal to 4Kids is $15 million, allowing the company to satisfy all of its debts and retain some money for its shareholders.
