Dark Horse has announced it will release a new limited edition vinyl figure of Sin City’s Marv, designed by Frank Miller and Eric So.

Timed to release on September 10, just after the August 22 film version of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (see "Rosario Dawson Shines in new 'Sin City' Clip"), the 13-inch figure has a limited production run of 950 and will be hand painted.  It will come with a pack of band-aid stickers and a certificate of authenticity, signed by both Miller and So.  MSRP is $150.

Multi-media artist and Hong Kong toy designer Eric So has previously designed a vinyl figure of Mike Mignola's Hellboy for Dark Horse.  He was also commissioned by Nike to produce a statue of Michael Jordan, and has numerous other figure, sneaker, advertising, and art ties.

So also designed the package, which features a gray translucent plastic blister on the front of the box with the figure visible inside in silhouette and the outer surface over-printed in which, evoking an image of Marv walking in the snow inspired by Miller’s Silent Night story.

For a look at the movie incarnation of Marv played by Mickey Rourke, the character poster can be seen here (see "Character Posters for 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For'").
