Not only is Wizards of the Coast mounting a program to make much of the enormous backlist of Dungeons & Dragons available via online downloads (see "'D&D' Classics Site Slammed in Debut" for an account of the bigger-than-expected response to the debut of the site), the company is also publishing new editions of some of the most sought after vintage D&D publications.

The ambitious reprint program for 2013 starts in May with a trio of Dungeons & Dragons Premium 2nd Edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Core Rulebooks (MSRP $49.95 each for the Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and Monstrous Manual), which will be followed by the classic adventure compilation Dungeons & Dragons: Against the Slave Lords (MSRP $49.95) in June, and the Premium 3.5 Edition Dungeons & Dragons Magic Item Compendium ($49.95) in July.

The 2nd Edition A D&D Core Rule Books are high quality new editions of the classic 2nd Edition volumes that come complete with new covers for all three books.  These volumes are sure to stir memories in those who played D&D in the late 1980s and 1990s.

A perfect companion to any of the classic 2nd Edition AD&D Core Rule Books is the D&D: Against the Slave Lords, An "A" Series Classic Adventure Compilation that brings together a collection of interrelated classic AD&D adventures that include A1 Slave Pits of the Undercity, A2 Secret of the Slavers Stockade, A3 Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords, and A4 In the Dungeon of the Slave Lords.

The Premium 3.5 Edition Dungeons & Dragons Magic Item Compendium gathers the most popular D&D magic items of all time and presents them in one easy-to-reference volume.  This premium reprint features a new cover and includes errata.
