Konami Digital Entertainment will host the second American Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series event of the season in Anaheim, California on November 22 – 23 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Event organizers expect big attendance, since the location is less than an hour away from the 2012 Long Beach YCS that set a Guinness World Record for Largest Trading Card Tournament (see "Guinness Certifies Largest TCG Event"). This YCS will also be the first to feature the new VIP treatment for VIP Duelists who qualified via the VIP Qualifier tournaments at registered Official Tournament Stores (OTS). VIP Duelists receive free entry to the YCS, reserved seating, additional match coverage, and a two round bye in the main event.
Pre-registration runs Friday, November 21 from 3 – 7pm, and players will receive five The New Challengers booster packs. This will be the first YCS held after the November 7 release for The New Challengers booster set (see "Konami Introduces New 'YGO' Configuration"), so will be the first place Duelists can test new decks and strategies.
The event will feature Dragon Duels for the younger players (born 2002 or later) on Saturday and Sunday. The winner of Saturday will play against the Sunday winner to determine the YCS Dragon Duel Champion.
The winner of the event will receive an Ultra Rare version of the "Ascension Sky Dragon" prize card, paid travel to a World Championship Qualifier (or if underage, winner and guardian), YCS Top Cut Game Mat, a PlayStation 4 system, and an invite to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier tournament.
Public events will include Regional Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, Attack of the Giant Card!!, Win-A-Mats, Battle Pack, and Battle City Tournaments held throughout the weekend.
