San Diego Comic-Con News: At San Diego Comic-Con, Konami Digital Entertainment was showing off more 2014 Yu-Gi-Oh! releases, and Konami Vice President Card Business Yumi Hoashi shared details about the upcoming The New Challengers Booster, which will be the final booster release of 2014, on November 7th.

"It brings together all the Pendulum Monsters that were in the Super Starters Space Time Showdown and the Duelist Alliance," Hoashi said of The New Challengers. This is the first time you get to soup up your deck with the Pendulum Summoning mechanic. It also continues the themes that were introduced in the Duelist Alliance, with the Shaddolls, the Stellar Knights, and the Burning Abyss theme.
The Burning Abyss theme is unique to the American release. There are five cards in the Duelist Alliance release, and five in The New Challengers, which brings the deck theme together fairly quickly. The 100-card set contains 48 Commons, 20 Rares, 14 Super Rares, 10 Ultra Rares, and 8 Secret Rare Cards.
Hoashi also shared some info on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Alliance Deluxe Edition Box, which will arrive on September 12th (see "'Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Alliance Deluxe Edition Box'"). "We made a change this time around from previous deluxe editions," Hoashi said. "You still get the two foil cards of non-foil cards in that set, but we’ve increased the preview cards from the next set to two of five preview cards." Also, previously, the two boxes were blind packaged, but this release allows players to pick which box they prefer -the Lightsworn theme or the Shaddolls theme. MSRP is $29.99.
We also got some pics of upcoming releases. Here are some of the cards in August’s Yu-Gi-Oh! 2014 Mega-Tins release (see "'Yu-Gi-Oh! 2014 Mega-Tins'").
