WizKids will support its new Dungeons & Dragons:  Attack Wing fantasy miniatures combat game with a monthly Storyline Organized Play program, which begins on October 29, shortly after the game’s launch on October 1 (see "Details and Pics for First 'Attack Wing D&D'").

WizKids teased the OP plans in July with the announcement of the Tiamat and Bahamut  dragon figures (which are part of the company’s D&D sister release Icons of the Realms miniatures line, see "'D&D Icons' 'Tiamat' and 'Bahamut' Minis"), which stated that the Tiamat figure would be part of the combat game’s OP program as a prize.  The theme of the first Storyline OP program is Tyranny of Dragons, mirroring the first Wizards of the Coast Dungeons & Dragons RPG Adventure league program (see "'D&D' Adventurers League Launches with New Edition").

Much like WizKids’ storyline OP for its DC and Marvel HeroClix games, retailers will order monthly kits that contain limited edition competitive and participation prizes as well as rules for the monthly events, which must be scheduled in the WizKids Event System.  Each kit is designed to support up to 10 players, and stores may order multiple kits based on their demonstrated D&D: Attack Wing performance.  The kits are not for resale.

For example, the D&D: Attack Wing Tyranny of Dragons Storyline Organized Play Month One Kit contains three limited edition competitive prize figures (Large White Dragon), 10 limited edition participation prizes, and an organized play addendum/instruction sheet.   The prize figures in subsequent months include limited edition versions of the Large Brass Dragon, Large Bronze Dragon, Large Hieracosphinx, Large Solar Angel, and Large Chimera.

Stores will also have the option of purchasing limited edition blind D&D: Attack Wing Tyranny of Dragons boosters, which will contain exclusive content for sealed booster play and are not for resale, beginning in month two.

Stores who participate in the program will also have the option to purchase the limited edition Attack Wing: Tiamat figure, which comes with cards, movement dials, a D&D: Attack Wing base and token sheets.  For each Month Six OP kit a store orders, the store can order up to two of the figure, which is not tied directly to the OP Program, and can be sold to the public, or used as grand prize figures for the tournament.  The figures will release shortly before the Month Six kit arrives.

The first two waves of expansions for the game have already been announced and will release in November, right after the first monthly OP kits arrive (see "'Attack Wing: D&D' Wave 2 Update").
