Playmates Toys, the master toy licensee for Universal Pictures' King Kong, which is being directed by Academy Award winner Peter Jackson and which will debut on December 14th, has unveiled its extensive line of King Kong toys, which includes a variety of action figures, role-playing items, a Skull Island Playset and 8-inch plush figures.  Playmates King Kong toys should hit retail in early October.

Action figures in the new Playmates King Kong line include a Basic 6-inch Series (MSRP $9.99) as well as two Deluxe 11' Figures (MSRP $17.99), the Deluxe Roaring Kong and the Deluxe Bull T-Rex, which feature 14 points of articulation, but the most spectacular item in the action figure line is the 14-inch Kong Figure (MSRP $24.99), which features a number of sound effects including roaring, stomping, and ambient jungle noises plus a whopping 22 points of articulation allowing this Kong figure to walk around on his front knuckles.

Role Playing Toys in the new line include a Kong Mask and Breakaway Chains available in Regular (MSRP $9.99) and Deluxe (MSRP $19.99) versions.  The King Kong Battling Action Game (MSRP $14.99) includes six-inch poseable Kong and T-Rex figures that twist and swing into attack mode -- each figure has a collapsible feature and a unique fighting technique.

The Skull Island Playset ($29.99) is a multi environment playset designed for play with the 6-inch Action Figure Collection.

The plush line includes 8-inch Basic Soft King Kong Figures (MSRP $5.99) and an 11-inch Roaring Kong Soft Figure (MSRP $9.99).
