With the controversy over the title of a newly announced Mystery Men comic from Marvel raging across the Internet (see “Legal Issues Loom for Marvel’s Mystery Men”), Dark Horse Comics fired a shot across the bow with an announcement on the Dark Horse blog that Bob Burden’s Mysterymen comic would be returning shortly in the pages of Dark Horse Presents.

 

The Dark Horse Blog  article also includes the first full color section (the second half will be up next week) of a two-part Mysterymen short story, which will tie-in to their appearance in Dark Horse Presents.

 

On the blog, Dark Horse President Mike Richardson, who was one of the producers of the 1999 Mystery Men movie based on Burden’s characters, wrote: “Bob’s misfit superheroes have always been a favorite of mine, and we’ve had great success with them in the past. I can’t wait to have them back in the pages of Dark Horse Presents.”
