Comic-Con News: At the Legendary Comics panel EIC Bob Schreck debuted a new project, Shadow Walk, an original graphic novel written by Mark Waid (Irredeemable) and Max Brooks (World War Z) with art by Shane Davis. The project blends science fiction, faith, and horror in a saga about the appearance of a mysterious and powerful object that demands a very special sort of handling.
Actual details about the plot of the project were not revealed, but panel participants including Mark Waid talked about the characters involved in the story. Investigating this powerful object is no easy matter. Instead of a military task force, a special team of operatives with varied backgrounds, including a man of faith, a woman with magical abilities, a hard-headed scientist, and someone with experience in dealing with this type of extraordinary phenomenon.
Earlier Legendary announced that superstar artist Alex Ross would be providing the cover for the second volume of The Tower Chronicles (see "Paul Pope and Matt Wagner Books From Legendary Comics"), which is due out in November. Like Shadow Walk, The Tower Chronicles is based in part on a concept created by Legendary Entertainment honcho Thomas Tull.
