NYCC News: Dynamite Entertainment announced today that it was hiring Matt Sturges (Jack of Fables, House of Mystery) to write a new limited series that will do for sea creatures such as mermaids, sirens, krakens, and pirates what Dynamite’s highly successful Damsels has done for the fairy tale characters Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, and The Little Mermaid.

 

Sturges’ as-yet-unnamed fantasy title will appear as a limited series comic that will debut in 2013.  This new fantasy series is just another indication of the growing interest in fantasy stories involving archetypal fantasy characters.
