ICv2 has learned that WizKids plans to release a line of figures based on the next big Marvel Studios movie, Iron Man 3, which will debut on May 3rd, 2013. WizKids’ line of Iron Man 3 figures, which is due in March, will include more than 40 new miniature figures based on the characters in the new Iron Man film directed by Shane Black that will star Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, and Rebecca Hall.

 

WizKids’ Marvel HeroClix Iron Man 3 figures will be available in a standalone gravity feed counter display, a special ready-to-play mini-game, and in a Marvel HeroClix: Iron Man 3 6-Figure Starter Set that will include all of the film’s principal actors. Look for more details about the various WizKids’ Marvel HeroClix: Iron Man 3 releases as their March release date grows closer.

The new armor designs that Marvel Studios has produced for Iron Man 3 including the "Patriot" armor should provide lots of fodder for WizKids’ expert designers (see "New Iron Man Armor").
