IDW Publishing has announced that John Byrne will be writing and illustrating his own four-issue miniseries, The High Ways, launching in January 2013.  The 32-page comic will retail for $3.99

 

Longtime industry writer and artist Byrne is no stranger to IDW as he resumed publication of his Next Men series with the publisher in 2010 (see also "IDW Details Scope of 'Mars Attacks' Event" and "Niles-Wrightson and John Byrne").  The High Ways finds Byrne in the science fiction and frontier adventure genres akin to British fan-favorite Dan Dare, but firmly ensconced within his post-Project Next Men Next Men universe.

 

IDW also hinted that in addition to The High Ways, Byrne would also have two other titles forthcoming in late 2013.
