IDW Games has released additional details on its edition of Henrik and Ase Bergs’ Rattus Cartus card game, which will release in September.

Rattus Cartus is a card game adaptation of the Rattus board game, and it previously received a very limited US release by IDW Games partner Pandasaurus (see "IDW Games Reprints Pandasaurus Titles").  Set in 1347, players compete to gather together loyal servants and merchants to aide them in their bid for the crown, to replace the ruler who has just succumbed to the Black Death.  Players travel from town to town, entering various buildings that belong to a given social class to recruit followers from that class.  However, while low class establishments have more potential followers, they also contain rats, and rats carry the plague.  Are more followers worth the risk of bringing a plague upon your own house?

The game contains almost 200 cards, including 12 unique buildings and six different classes.  The game is for 2 -5 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 30-45 minutes. MSRP is $39.99.

IDW told ICv2 it also has plans to release the Rattus Cartus: Nobilis expansion for the card game in the future, likely Q2 2015.  This would be the first U.S. release of the expansion.
