Fantasy Flight Games has announced plans to release Gates of Arkham, an expansion for its horror card and dice game Elder Sign (see "'Elder Sign,' Fast-Paced Lovecraftian Horror"), in Q1 2015.
Gates of Arkham is the second expansion for the cooperative card and dice game (Elder Sign: Unseen Forces was the first), and this expansion moves the action from the museum to the haunted city of Arkham itself. There are over 20 locations including Velma’s Diner and the Curiositie Shoppe, Arkham Asylum and the Uninvited Isle to explore, while gates to Other Worlds are popping up all over the city, unleashing four new Ancient Ones into our world.
The box contains a deck of Arkham Adventure cards and Other World cards, 8 Investigators, 4 Ancient Ones, 25 Event cards, 30 Mythos cards, 8 Memberships, 12 Skill cards, spells, allies, gate markers, monsters and more. As an expansion it does require the base game to play. The game is for 1- 8 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 1-2 hours. MSRP is $24.95.
