Magnetic Press announced the new comic miniseries POET, created by Blink-182/Angels & Airwaves frontman Tom DeLonge, for Spring 2015. The sci-fi/fantasy series will serve as a prequel to the Angels & Airwaves album/film project Dream Walker, which debuts in December.
POET will be written by DeLonge and Ben Kull (Mission Hill, The Oblongs), with art by artist Djet Stephane. Covers for the three-issue series will be done by Gerald Parel (Iron Man, Captain America) and Bengal (Naja, Avengers). The story follows Jonas "Poet" Anderson, a teen who discovers he can dream lucidly, and interact with creatures in the dreamscape, as well as protect sleepers from dark terrors that can cross over into the walking world.
The Dream Walker album will debut on December 9, serving as concept soundtrack for the animated short film produced by DeLonge’s To The Stars production company. The film will premiere as an Official Selection of the 2014 Toronto International ShortFilm Festival, and debut publically with the album release. A full length feature film is in pre-production, and there are plans for a novelization and other product tie-ins including collectibles and attire.
