Appeals court losses for Stan Lee Media, a company that has nothing to do with Stan Lee and has no business other than litigating over intellectual property rights, continued with a new ruling by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals last week.
The ruling affirmed a district court decision that dismissed the claim by Stan Lee Media against the Walt Disney Company, calling Stan Lee Media’s claims "simply implausible" (see "Judge Smacks Down Stan Lee Media"). The new appeals court ruling cited a recent decision by the 9th district appeals court, which found against Stan Lee Media’s "implausible" assertions of ownership (see "Stan Lee Media Loses Twice").
Barring appeal to the Supreme Court, Stan Lee Media appears to be running out of options in its many cases, which stretch back over a decade.
Meanwhile, the real Stan Lee turned 92 on December 28th, and is still going strong.
