The reboot of Tomb Raider has a new high profile screenwriter and new studio joining the effort, Deadline is reporting.  Evan Daugherty will write, and Warner Bros. is joining producer Graham King and MGM to co-finance and co-produce the film.

The last screenwriter attached to the project was Marti Noxon in 2013 (see “ 'Buffy' Vet on 'Tomb Raider'”). Now Daugherty (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe 3, Divergent) will pen the script that will feature a younger version of the iconic Lara Croft on her first adventure.  The article also lists Daugherty as the writer for the possible series adaptation of the Image comic Five Ghosts for SyFy (see “Syfy Nabs Rights to 'Five Ghosts'”).

Dark Horse currently produces an ongoing comic series, which just released its first trade paperback collection in November (see “Review: 'Tomb Raider Vol. 1: Season of the Witch' TP”).
