VIZ Media will manage the master license for digital, home media, merchandise, and TV rights to the highly anticipated One-Punch Man anime in North America, Latin America, and Oceania, and stream the title in the U.S., the company announced.

The manga by writer One and artist Yusuke Murata, which Viz will begin releasing in print in the U.S. in September (see "VIZ Announces 'One-Punch Man' Print Editions"), was originally a webcomic.  Shueisha acquired the rights to release it in print in Japan, where over 4.5 million copies of the One-Punch Man collections have been sold to date.

The anime, which will premiere this fall, is animated by Madhouse, with Shingo Natsume (Space Dandy, Fullmetal Alchemist:  The Sacred Star of Milos) directing, and character designs by Chikashi Kubota (From the New World, Robotics:notes).

Anime Consortium Japan, a new company formed late last year to run a streaming service and e-commerce site for several anime producers (and which has absorbed Daisuki in the U.S., see "Daisuki Will Launch in U.S.") will stream the subtitled anime in North America, Latin America, Oceania, and Europe.  VIZ Media Europe will oversee and stream the anime in Europe, including Russia.
