IDW Games has shared final details of its upcoming board game V-Wars, based on Jonathan Maberry’s prose series and comic adaptations. The game releases in December.

The V-Wars board game was designed by Rob Daviau, best known for Risk: Legacy and Betrayal at House on the Hill.  The project was first announced last summer (see “‘V-Wars’ Board Game”).

The game envisions open warfare between humans and vampires, which are created by a mysterious virus that can infect normal people and convert them into vampires.  As a result, the player’s allies in the game can unexpected change sides and join the enemy.  More than just a straightforward wargame, V-Wars challenges players to balance military and political endeavors, with public support as a critical battleground.

V-Wars will include 120 plastic models representing human soldiers and vampires, 150 game cards, playing tokens, and a game board.  The game is for 3 - 5 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in about an hour.  MSRP is $79.99.
