The comic will be written by James Robinson, with art by Tony Harris, the team behind the 1990s DC Comics Starman series. The story will follow the protocol droid on a solo adventure which reveals how he received his replacement red arm.
“That’s a really exciting part of doing this story,” Robinson said. “I saw a photo of C-3PO with his red arm the other day and I thought ‘Wow, I’m the writer who gets to explain that.’”
This comic is one of several story nuggets revealed as part of the extensive Star Wars: Journey to the Force Awakens publishing program (see “ICv2: New 'Star Wars' Comics, Books Bridge Gap Between Movies”).
