Program coupon
At the GAMA Trade Show, Konami shared it is again partnering with schools, libraries and YMCAs for after-school programs to teach new players the Yu-Gi-Oh! CCG. This year’s After-School Kit also includes a coupon redemption program which drives traffic to Official Tournament Stores (OTS).

“What we did different this year is we have a starter deck coupon that can be redeemed at our official tournament stores,” Konami VP of Card Business Yumi Hoashi told ICv2. “[The players] go online to check where an official tournament store is and then they can bring that coupon to the store and get a free starter deck, which then the tournament stores redeem back from us.”

Konami has been running an after-school program for several years (see “'YGO' After-School Kits”), but tweaks the content each year. This year’s kit contains a leader guide for the program administrator to teach them how to teach the children to play; as well as demo decks, how to play guides, and a double-sided poster/ game mat with the game rules on one side and a game mat on the other

Konami recently shipped out 1,000 kits for approximately 150,000 kids to after-school programs across the country.

Konami also shared details on upcoming releases for Summer 2016 (see “Konami Reveals Three Summer 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' Products”).
