At the GAMA Trade Show, Bushiroad shared information on its new high fantasy card game Ascendants of Aetheros.  ICv2 spoke with game designer Rudy Ng, Development Executive for Bushiroad, to learn more about the game.

Ascendants of Aetheros is a stand-alone, casual card game. Players gather a band of five units, and the units become light bringers, with the goal being to score 125 points. “It’s a race for points,” said Ng, “but you still play action cards. The good thing about the game is that it’s really easy for people to pick up in five minutes, but it’s difficult to master because of the different abilities and combinations.”

The game will feature work from famous Japanese illustrators including Asuka Nishi, the illustrator for Weiss Schwarz. The game will include 153 cards, which includes six  different races (Elves, Were-Beasts, Succubus, Seraphim, Yokai, and Exiled), action cards and more.

Game length is 15 - 20 minutes for a 2-player game, with game time increasing with more players (30 minutes for 3 players, 40 minutes for 4 players).  The game is targeted at players 14 and up, with art featuring "cute females" one of the reasons buyers are expected to skew male.  MSRP is $40.00.

Release is planned for July 29, with a launch at Anime Expo.
