TCGplayer announced a new Buylist Marketplace, which will allow participating retailers to buy TCG cards from collectors anywhere in the U.S., at GAMA Trade Show.  Through the new marketplace, which will launch this summer, retailers can post their buy lists, which TCGplayer will match against customers’ sell lists.  TCGplayer will handle logistics, processing the cards from multiple collectors and sending them on to the retailer purchaser.

“The TCGplayer Buylist is the first marketplace designed to help brick and mortar stores acquire more inventory for the explosive collectible gaming market,” TCGplayer CEO Chedy Hampson said of the new service.  “We’re now able to provide our buyers and sellers with incredible logistic efficiencies that benefit everyone.”

TCGplayer also announced two enhancements to its TCGplayer Direct service, which fulfills orders for consumers on retailers’ behalf before receiving the retailers’ inventory.  The program has shipped over 10 million cards since the program debuted two years ago (see “TCGPlayer to Consolidate Retailer Shipping”).

TCGplayer Direct is now being expanded internationally, with orders from non-U.S. purchasers now being shipped on behalf of retailers at domestic shipping rates.  And the minimum order size is being eliminated, allowing collectors to purchase products more spontaneously.   Both of those two new services are already rolling out.
