The high fee for Supergirl is making CBS hesitate about renewing the series for a second season, according to Deadline. A renewal is still on the table, as are cost-cutting moves such as reducing the number of episodes for the second season or moving production to Vancouver from California, joining other Greg Berlanti – Andrew Kreisberg shows such as Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.
But there’s also speculation that the series may move its network home to the CW, joining the other Berlanti series a little higher up the dial on a channel co-owned by CBS. The Flash and Supergirl already crossed over this year (see "Date Set for Flash-Supergirl Crossover"), so the shows are already operating in a common multiverse.
Supergirl was CBS’s top new drama in demo (18-49), but didn’t finish strong. The season finale drew about 6.2 million viewers, matching the season low, according to Variety.
Production May Move
