Publisher’s Weekly reports that Siegel is creating this series of kids’ graphic novels with the help of his brother Alexis, who will assist in the writing the scripts, and with the aid of three young artists Xanthe Bouma, Matt Rockefeller, and Boya Sun, who will lend their talents to this sprawling “tale of a girl and her two unlikely companions who have to thwart the destruction of their five worlds.”

Random House Children’s Books has acquired 5 Worlds, a 3-volume graphic novel series created by Mark Siegel, the author of Sailor Twain and the publisher of First Second Books (see “Interview With First Second’s Mark Siegel, Part I & Interview With First Second’s Mark Siegel, Part II”). The first volume in the series, 5 Worlds, Vol.1: The Sand Warrior, is due out in the summer of 2017.
