Koyama Press celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2017, and the publisher has announced six books for its spring docket: Crawl Space by Jesse Jacobs, Volcano Trash by Ben Sears, You & A Bike & A Road by Eleanor Davis, Sunburning by Keiler Roberts, So Pretty / Very Rotten by Jane Mai and An Nguyen, and Condo Heartbreak Disco by Eric Kostiuk Williams. All titles are set for a May 2017 release.

Canadian cartoonist Jesse Jacobs examines suburban ennui and adolescent friendship in the surrealistic Crawl Space, Jacobs’ third publication with Koyama. The 6.5” x 9”, 96-page, full-color hardcover has an MSRP of $19.95.

In Volcano Trash, Kentucky-based illustrator and designer Ben Sears, who previously published his all-ages comic Night Air with Koyama, tells a sci-fi adventure story featuring corrupt cops, boy heroes, and unlikely team-ups. The 6.5” x 9”, 120-page, full-color trade paperback has an MSRP of $12.00.

Russ Manning Award and Ignatz Award–winning cartoonist Eleanor Davis chronicles her two-month bike tour from Tucson, Arizona, to Athens, Georgia, in You & A Bike & A Road. The 6” x 8.5”, 160-page, black-and-white trade paperback has an MSRP of $12.00.

In Sunburning, Ignatz Award–winner Keiler Roberts uses short vignettes to document the delight, comedy, and melancholy that characterized his experiences with his bipolar mother. This 7” x 9”, 120-page, black-and-white trade paperback has an MSRP of $12.00.

So Pretty / Very Rotten is a hybrid publication that examines the Lolita fashion subculture through comics and essays by illustrators An Nguyen and Jane Mai alongside contributions from Japanese writer and fashion designer Novala Takemoto. The 5” x 7,” 300-page, black-and-white trade paperback has an MSRP of $18.00.

The gender fluid protagonists in Eric Kostiuk Williams’s Condo Heartbreak Disco take on gentrification by condo. This 7” x 10”, 52-page, black-and-white trade paperback has an MSRP of $10.00.
