In advance of New York Comic Con, Dark Horse has announced new comics and coloring books tied to the popular Mass Effect and Dragon Age video game franchises.

In 2017, Dark Horse will launch the Mass Effect: Andromeda program, which is tied to BioWare’s highly-anticipated new video game of the same name. March 1 sees the release of the Mass Effect Adult Coloring Book. In spring 2017, Dark Horse will publish the first issue of Mass Effect: Discovery by Mass Effect creative director Mac Walters, Mass Effect: Andromeda lead writer John Dombrow, and Jeremy Barlow. Gabriel Guzmán will draw the series. In fall 2017, Mass Effect: Andromeda—The Poster Collection will hit shelves.

On February 8, Dark Horse will release the Dragon Age Adult Coloring Book, which will be followed by the first issue of the Dragon Age: Knight Errant series on May 10. The series is written by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir (SkinwalkerThree Strikes). Fernando Heinz Furukawa draws the interiors, and Sachin Teng will create the covers.

Dark Horse’s partnership with BioWare extends back to the release of Mass Effect 2 and the Mass Effect: Redemption miniseries (See “EA, Dark Horse Team Up For 'Mass Effect'”). The partnership has also yielded several more Mass Effect miseries, a Greg Rucka-penned Dragon Age miniseries (see “Greg Pak's 'Kingsway West'”), and deluxe Mass Effect and Dragon Age art books (see “Dark Horse Touts Deluxe Video Game Books”).

“As we bring the Andromeda galaxy to life, we realize that there are many untapped stories that could be better told through comics,” said Mass Effect: Andromeda creative director Mac Walters. “These stories give our fans a more in-depth understanding of the motivations of the explorers making that journey, from their perspective.”
