New York Comic Con News:  Today DC Comics announced that visionary comic book writer Warren Ellis (The Authority, Transmetropolitan, Red) will curate a new Wild Storm “pop-up imprint” for DC.  This new imprint follows in the wake of the launch of the “mature readers” Young Animal pop-up imprint, which will be curated by Gerard Way (see “DC Announces Gerard Way Pop-Up Imprint”).

The WildStorm imprint is slated to debut in mid-February 2017 with the launch of its flagship title, The Wild Storm, which will be written by Ellis with art by Jon-Davis Hunt (The Clean Room), and which will reset the WildStorm universe and introduce new iterations of key WildStorm characters including Grifter, Voodoo, The Engineer, and Jenny Sparks.  Current plans call for DC use The Wild Storm series to launch future individual series for MICHAEL CRAY, WILDC.A.T.S. and Zealot.

Ellis is looking forward to rebooting the WildStorm comics universe: “After long reflection, I couldn't turn down the invitation to renovate the house that Jim Lee built, and refit its unique combination of cosmic paranoia and paramilitary conspiracy for the post-political space madness of the twenty-teens--looking back to look forward."
