With the major spoiler revealed today in Clone Conspiracy #3, Marvel hosted a press call with writer Dan Slott, junior sales & communications administrator Chris D’Lando, executive editor Nick Lowe, and associate editor Devin Lewis to discuss the monumental shift happening in the Spider-verse.

With the shocking revelation that the antagonist behind The Clone Conspiracy was not, in fact, Professor Miles Warren, but Peter Parker clone Ben Reilly masquerading as The Jackal, Marvel has suddenly returned a character long thought dead to the Spider-verse. Marvel had already announced the story would spill over into other titles, including Amazing Spider-Man, Prowler, and Silk. Now it has announced another one-shot, Clone Conspiracy Omega, planned for March, and promised a new book will spin out of the series.

“People are going to have so many questions after reading Clone Conspiracy #3, and the big ones are going to get answered in Amazing Spider-Man #22,” said Lowe, adding that there will also be Clone Conspiracy tie-ins in issues #23 and #24. “#22 will tell the back-story of Ben, how he got here and what he’s been doing up to the present day.”

“With Clone Conspiracy #3, if you’re a retailer, and your customers are freaking out right now and asking a million questions, Amazing #22 will answer those questions,” Slott said.

Marvel also shared a preview of Clone Conspiracy  #4 (see “Preview: 'Clone Conspiracy' #4”) and Amazing Spider-Man #22 (see “Preview: 'Amazing Spider-Man' #22 (A Clone Conspiracy Tie-In)”) during the call.
