Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for a six-issue adaptation from Marvel Comics.

Written by Jody Houser (Faith) and drawn by Emilio Laiso (Civil War II: Gods of War), the series will kick off in April.

Fans have noticed that a number of scenes included in trailers for Rogue One were not in the final product, and the comic appears set to explore that material and more, as Houser explains to Entertainment Weekly:

“The comics will definitely expand on what was seen in both Rogue One the film and the novelization. Lucasfilm and Gareth Edwards had a bunch of ideas for extra scenes and character moments that didn’t make it into the film. I’m having a lot of fun playing around with those. Adaptations across different forms of media have always been a great opportunity to explore other facets of the story, and we’re excited to have new material in the Rogue One comic.”

Houser’s star continues to rise since the debut of Faith, her popular body-inclusive superhero series for Valiant. Faith was named a top comic of 2016 by several outlets, including Barnes & Noble (see “Vulture, Barnes & Noble Release Best Graphic Novel Lists”), NPR (see “'Forbes,' 'NPR,' and 'Mental Floss' Weigh in on 2016 Comics”), and Amazon (see “Amazon's Best Graphic Novels - 2016”).
