On the eve of Toy Fair, Hasbro dropped a bomb on sewing enthusiasts everywhere, the thimble will be retired as a token in Monopoly.

Hasbro announced a massive campaign to choose the fate of the iconic game tokens in January, offering fans a chance to vote from a list of 64 choices, which includes the current line-up (Scottie dog, wheelbarrow, car, racecar, thimble, shoe, top hat, and battleship.) All 64 choices can be seen here: “Hasbro Democratizes 'Monopoly' Token Selection.”

The winning tokens will be announced on World Monopoly Day, March 19. The new tokens will debut in a new edition of the board game in August.

The thimble is not the first Monopoly token to be officially retired. The iron was replaced in 2013.
