Fantasy Flight Games will release the first expansion for Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne, their 2016 board game which takes the Cosmic Encounters game system and applies it to the hit HBO show.

The new expansion adds two new Houses to the game, House Greyjoy and House Martell. In addition, it adds ten new leaders, new House cards, and unique abilities, as well as a deck of 25 new allies which can dramatically change the scope of the strategy from the base game. The expansion requires the base game to play, and expands the number of players to up to seven.

MSRP is $29.95; release is planned for Q2.

The Game of Thrones license continues to be wildly popular; the television show was the most pirated TV show of 2016 (see "'Westworld' Among Most Pirated for 2016").
