At the GAMA Trade Show, Jasco Games revealed its upcoming retro video game inspired card game, Mega Man Pixel Tactics, which will include three sets:  Blue, Red, and Orange.  The games were produced in partnership with Level 99 Studios, and are releasing in April.

Originally announced as two sets last November (see “‘Mega Man’ Invades ‘Pixel Tactics’”), Mega Man will be available in three different two-deck sets.  Each set can be used on its own as a stand-alone two-player game, or combined with other Mega Man sets or any other Pixel Tactics games, as Jasco’s Board Game Director Mike Bisson explained to ICv2. “Each one of these boxes is a two-player game.  If you just want to get one, that’s great.  If you want to get all three of them, mix and match, and better build your armies, that works as well.”

The game is a turn-based strategy game using cards featuring characters from the Mega Man video games.  Players choose a “leader” card, which gives them abilities they can use during the game.  Other cards are used as minions, trying to destroy the opposing units.

In addition to the game cards, each copy of Mega Man Pixel Tactics comes with a paper playmat that doubles as the game rules.  MSRP is $29.99 per set.

Jasco had originally expected to release the game in July.
