Paizo, Inc. is publishing a new sourcebook of demons, devils, and daemons called Book of the Damned for its long-running Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, with release set for September.

This book features source material and information about the evil denizens of the Outer Planes, including information about how to fight or serve these fiendish creatures, as well as spells, treasures, and character abilities associated with the infernal powers.  The infernal realms of Hell, Abaddon, and the Abyss, and those mortals who worship their powers, are also described.  The book includes rules for demonic boons, feats, spells, magic items, and prestige classes for use in the game, alongside “excerpts” from texts “written” by characters in the Pathfinder world.

Paizo Publisher Erik Mona described the book to ICv2 at the recent GAMA Trade Show in Las Vegas, saying, “…it’s an ‘in-world’ book called The Book of the Damned.  There’s ‘in-world’ ‘in-character’ stuff about all the creatures… It’s geared towards players and GMs.  It is, in part, a compilation of three previous Pathfinder campaign setting books we did called Book of the Damned Volume 1, Volume 2, and Volume 3, all of which have been sold out for several years,… and then adding about 100 pages’ worth of new material as well.”

Book of the Damned will be a 288-page hardcover book.  MSRP is $44.99.

Last month, Paizo announced a new Adventure Path, Ruins of Azlant, which will release in August (see “Paizo Reveals New ‘Adventure Path’”).  August will also see the release of Paizo’s new science fiction RPG Starfinder, which will be supported by a line of miniatures produced by Ninja Division (see “Ninja Division Producing ‘Starfinder’ Minis”).
