At the GAMA Trade Show, ICv2 spoke with representatives of Bandai Co. Ltd. Card Business Department to learn about the company’s planned support for hobby retailers with the launch of its Zombie World Order and Dragon Ball Super trading card games this spring.

In April, Zombie World Order will shamble into hobby stores (see “Japanese Zombies Invade the U.S.”). The Launch Kit will include 20 copies of the Zombie World Order half decks, 20 fliers, 20 play manuals (which double as play mats), a half-size poster, and 5 full size posters.

The Shop Tournament Kit may be used to host an event with up to 16 players. It includes 16 promotional cards (participation award), 10 Booster Packs to give away as prizes, 2 play mats, and 3 tournament announcement posters. Bushiroad will support the game with new Shop Tournament Kits with the release of new booster sets in Summer 2017 and Winter 2017.

For the Dragon Ball Super Card Game launching in July (see “The 'Dragon Ball' Universe Returns in New TCG”), Bandai also has Launch Kits and Tournament Kits. The Launch Kit includes 32 half decks, 32 promotional cards, 32 play manuals, 32 play sheets, 20 game fliers, a half-size poster, and 5 promotional posters. 

The Tournament Kit includes materials to host an event for up to 16 players. The kit includes 16 participation award single card packs (1 of a set of 16 different cards, to encourage participants to compete in multiple events),10 Booster Packs to use as prizes, 3 tournament announcement posters, and two play mats. Bandai will continue to support the game by releasing new Tournament Packs with the release of each new booster set, with plans for Tournament Kit 2 in Winter 2017, and Tournament Kit 3 in Spring 2018.
