MTV is reporting that Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov has told a Russian news site that he has already begun preparations for a sequel to the well-received action film based on the Top Cow comic book by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones.  Marvel’s problems in resurrecting Captain America pale beside those of Wanted 2 screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos, who may be asked to bring back a host of characters who were disposed of in the original film including Jolie’s “Fox” and Kostya Kahbenskiy’s “The Exterminator."

Morgan Freeman is unlikely to return, though Terrance Stamp is expected to bring back his Pekwarsky character and play a much bigger role in the sequel.  According to MTV Bekmambetov has indicated that he will begin making final preparations for the film in July with shooting starting “in late autumn or winter” in America, India, and Russia.
