Tron and Terminator are moving forward, and Highlander has taken a step backwards, in geek film news from the last few days.  A sequel to Tron Legacy has a writer at Disney, with Jesse Wigutow (It Runs in the Family) signed to write a script, according to Hollywood Reporter.  Joseph Kosinski (Legacy) is attached to direct, according to the report.
Two production companies are partnering to produce a fifth Terminator film, according to Variety.  Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures have acquired the rights from Pacificor, the hedge fund that bought the Terminator property in a bankruptcy auction in 2010.  No word on whether the Terminator film in development still has a director (Justin Lin) and guest star (Arnold Schwarzenegger) attached (see "He's Baaack!  Arnold on New 'Terminator' Project").
And the Highlander remake has hit a rough patch as Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, see "'Highlander' Remake Gets a Director") has left the production based on irreconcilable differences, according to Deadline.  This is the second director to leave the film (see "Justin Lin Ankles 'Highlander' Remake"), although Summit Entertainment likes the script they have and wants to make the film. Ryan Reynolds is still attached to play the title character, according to the report.
