The Walking Dead, powered by record ratings in the first half of the fourth season of the AMC show (see "Top 'Walking Dead' Midseason Finale Ever"), took the #1 spot with its latest volume, March to War (Vol. 19), in the chart of the "Top 20 Adult Graphic Novels" sold in the bookstore channel in November, provided exclusively to ICv2.com by Nielsen BookScan.

The Walking Dead placed five volumes, the same as October, in the Top 20, nicely bracketing the beginning and end of the series with vols. 18 and 19 of the regular trade paperback series and Vol. 1.  The two Compendium volumes, for those binge readers that want to grind through the comics as efficiently as possible, rounded out the list.  The continued appearance of the early volumes in the top ranks of graphic novels indicates an ongoing flow of new readers to the title, a bullish sign for the future of the property.  This week, we learned more about how the viewership was growing in tandem (see "'Walking Dead' Viewers Getting Younger").

The mighty Naruto took the #2 slot with its new volume (#63), one of nine manga titles in the Top 20.

Attack on Titan dropped to three volumes in the Top 20 from four in October, but the first two volumes made the list, showing the property is continuing to grow.  The inevitable DVD release of the anime next year, which so far has only been available streaming in the U.S., should give this property another jolt.

A new Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds volume, the new Vampire Knight, a second collection of Sailor Moon short stories, the latest Maximum Ride OEL manga, and the new Yotsuba&! made up the rest of the manga in the Top 20.

DC was up to five volumes in the Top 20 in November, with the latest Scott Snyder-penned Batman volume, Death of the Family, hitting #3 in its launch month.  All three Scott Snyder Batman volumes were in the Top 20, and it’s likely that isn’t the last time we’ll say that.  The Joker:  Death of the Family and Killing Joke rounded out the five Batman titles, and five superhero titles, in the Top 20.

The latest Dark Horse Avatar: The Last Airbender volume moved up to the #4 slot in November from #8 last month, showing strong sales momentum.
