Barry Branvold of Barry's Collectors Corner in Grand Forks, North Dakota saw the news about Disney store closings (see “Disney Closing 100 Stores”) and has noticed the stores no longer carry merchandise for adults:

I saw the recent article on Disney Stores closing. I used to enjoy stopping at the Disney Store in the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.  In the past few years the store has carried nothing that an adult, without kids, would buy. They used to carry collectible figures, watches, and adult clothing.  When I asked employees about the lack of materials just for adults, they readily agreed and they would give me a form to fill out to send to their corporate offices to get things changed. The employees seemed genuinely concerned that the store was phasing out anything I would buy. The trend has never reversed itself. Where does an adult go to buy a Donald Duck jacket or shirt? Disney online is fine, but sometimes I like to look at it before I buy.
