Cartoon Network and Lucasfilm are kicking off heavy promotional activity supporting the Friday, October 3rd television premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network (see “Clone Wars Series Debuts October 3rd”). 

Two thousand Star Wars: The Clone Wars at-home viewing parties are being organized by Cartoon Network and “word-of-mouth company” House Party, with big winner Calvin Rodgers getting a red carpet showing at the Park West Theater in Lincoln Park, Illinois.  The 2,000 at-home party hosts will get a party kit that includes a lightsaber, character masks, glow sticks, tattoos, stickers, posters, and balloons for each guest, plus the first two episodes.  The events are being held this Saturday, a week before the TV premiere. 

The Star Wars: The Clone Wars Intergalactic Tour, a mall tour from Cartoon Network and Lucasfilm, kicked off last Friday and will wrap up on November 9th.  The tour, managed by event company iris Entertainment, offers a variety of entertainment stations at each stop, including a Lightsaber Skill Test, a preview of the Clone Wars intereactive game, taking pictures with the characters, previewing the new series in a special viewing area, and temporary tattoos.  Stops are:

Chicago: Gurnee Mills Mall on Sept. 19-21

New York: Roosevelt Fields Mall on Sept. 26-28

Philadelphia: King of Prussia Mall on Oct. 4-5

Washington, D.C.: Tyson Corner Center Mall on October 11-12

Atlanta: Lenox Square Mall on Oct 18-19

Miami: Dadeland Mall on Oct. 25-26

Houston: Houston Galleria Mall on Oct. 31 - Nov. 2

Los Angeles: Brea Mall on Nov. 8-9.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars has an extensive merchandise program in place, including tabletop games (see “Star Wars CMG Clone Wars Releases” and “WizKids Plans Two 08 Clone Wars Releases”), graphic novels from Dark Horse, books from Del Rey (see “Del Rey to Publish Clone Wars Novels”), trading cards (see “Clone Wars Sketch Cards”), toys, and other products.
