Steve Jackson Games is inviting creators to contribute adventures and more to The Fantasy Trip (TFT) roleplaying game via a limited publishing agreement for the game being offered in 2019.

The agreement is similar to the Open Game License (OGL) and Game System License (GSL) used by Wizards of the Coast to allow third-party publishers to produce compatible material for specific editions of Dungeons & Dragons.  Under the specific TFT license, writers and illustrators will be able to create original PDFs, including adventures, area writeup and histories, creatures, characters, and more, to sell on Warehouse 23, Steve Jackson Games web store.  These creators will earn royalties for the sale of their created works.  All PDFs offered for sale under this agreement will be allowed to use TFT game mechanics and the world of Cidri under an official "Compatible with The Fantasy Trip" logo.

Steve Jackson began work on his first roleplaying game, The Fantasy Trip, in 1977, and it was published by Metagaming Concepts as a series of microgames, later expanded into full-size books.  Jackson left Metagaming Concepts, but the game remained with the publisher, who continued to support the game until it closed in April 1983.  Jackson reacquired the rights to several products he authored for Metagaming in late 2017.

The company is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to release the Legacy Edition of The Fantasy Trip.  The campaign has raised more than $230,000 from more than 2, 500 backers and will continue through August 24.  Kickstarter fulfillment is currently scheduled for March 2019, with trade release to follow.
