Sony Pictures has been secretly working on a new Ghostbusters movie, which will directed by Jason Reitman, son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman.  Today Entertainment Weekly revealed a teaser trailer.

“I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set,” Reitman told EW.  “I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans.  This is the next chapter in the original franchise.  It is not a reboot.  What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”

Ivan Reitman directed popular comedies including Stripes, Twins, and Kindergarten Cop. Jason Reitman has directed Thank You for Smoking, Juno,  and Tully.

Release date was not announced, but the picture is planned for Summer 2020. Shooting will begin in a few months.
