GeekChicDaily has completed a round of strategic financing led by Revolution Studios founder Joe Roth and Seattle investor and Internet pioneer Mike Slade.  The company has also closed a strategic transaction with Legendary Pictures, producers with Warners of The Dark Knight, 300, Inception, and others.

The investment round, of undisclosed size, was joined by Gamespy founder mark Surfas, EA and Activision veteran and current Legendary Digital President Kathy Vrabeck, Machinima Chairman/CEO Allen DeBevoise, and existing investors Robert Pittman and Andrew Russell (see “GeekChicDaily Adds Investors”).

The company said that the funds raised will be used for “infrastructure, further brand extension, and marketing of the daily publication.”

GeekChicDaily has also added Ben Lerer, CEO and co-founder of Thrillist, to its advisory board, which also includes former DailyCandy CEO Pete Sheinbaum, Pilot Group Managing Partner Andrew Russell, and Broadway Video CEO Jack Sullivan.

GeekChicDaily was co-founded by digital media and videogame veteran Peter Levin, who’s CEO; Gareb Shamus of Wizard World; and Mandalay Entertainment’s Peter Guber (see “Shamus, Partners Launch GeekChicDaily”).
