Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. Pictures has signed a two-year 'first look' deal with director Zack Snyder's Cruel and Unusual Productions.  The deal was announced just as Warners is in the process of a major promotional campaign for 300, which Snyder directed from Frank Miller's graphic novel about the heroic band of Spartans that held off hordes of Persians in the Battle of Thermopylae.

In announcing the agreement between Snyder's production company and Warner Bros. Variety noted that Snyder, who made his directorial debut with the remake of George Romero's Dawn of the Dead, 'is in pre-production on Watchmen, based on Alan Moore's DC Comics comicbook, for Warners.'
