Todd McFarlane should have seen Sam Katzman's grade Z musical exploitation movie, Don't Knock the Twist, and taken its message to heart.  The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that former St. Louis Blues 'enforcer' Tony Twist has reached a $5 million settlement with insurance companies for Todd McFarlane. The $5 million deal was recently approved in bankruptcy court in Arizona.

Twist sued McFarlane over the latter's use of the name 'Tony Twist' for a violent mob boss in McFarlane's Spawn comic book series.  In 2000 a jury in St. Louis awarded Twist $24.5 million in damages -- an award that was tossed out on appeal.  However a second proceeding brought Twist a $15 million judgment and that verdict was affirmed on appeal in June of 2006 (see 'Court Upholds Twist Verdict').  In December of 2004, faced with the initial $15 million verdict (which he immediately appealed), McFarlane nonetheless declared 'Chapter 11' bankruptcy (see 'Todd McFarlane Productions Files Chapter 11').
