Villard Books, a division of Random House, will publish Postcards: True Stories That Never Happened, a graphic novel assembled by Jason Rodriguez.  Rodriguez, who edited the Elk's Run comic book series, dispersed 33 vintage postcards, each of which contained an intriguing and evocative message, to a number of talented comic book creators including Harvey Pekar, Joshua Hale Fialkov, Philip Hester, Stuart Moore, and Antony Johnson with instructions to craft a story about the person who sent the original postcard.

Villard Books plans to publish the 176-page Postcards: True Stories That Never Happened hardcover ($21.95) on June 26th.  On March 27th Villard is publishing a trade paperback edition of Elk's Run ($19.95), a graphic novel written by Joshua Hale Fialkov (and edited by Jason Rodriguez) about teens growing up in a small town whose survivalist founders have totally isolated them from the outside world.  The Elk's Run comic book was originally published by Speakeasy Comics, which went out of business before the series was complete, so it will published in its entirety for the first time by Villard (see 'Random House to Publish Elk's Run').
