Hachette Book Group's French sister company Hachette Livre is acquiring PIKA, the third largest manga publisher in the French market.  PIKA has a catalogue of approximately 600 titles, including a number of European-created titles. 

Hachette is aggressively moving into the U.S. graphic novel market through its new imprint Yen Press, which is acquiring manga titles from Japan and has also announced its first OEL manga title (see 'Yen Press Details Launch Plans').  Although no announcement of the nature of the working relationship between the French and American Hachette divisions has been made, one could foresee Yen publishing some of PIKA's original titles in the U.S., PIKA publishing Yen Press original titles in Europe, and some joint publishing of manga titles in both countries.
